I am just glad to see people posting on here again. I was afraid we were all getting too busy to chat or didn't have anything to say. I know I was racking my brain trying to think of something to type to get the conversation rolling again. By the way, I have a funny story to relay. . . I went in yesterday to have my biopsy done and got there at 10am and waited around and finally was taken back to start getting ready. I got in the gown and booties and got in the bed. They put in the IV needle and I just about got sick. (not good with needles that are left in my body or take blood from my body, the others are OK) In a few minutes they came and wheeled me down to mammography to get the needle local done. When we got there no one was there so the guy just left me in the middle of their area. In a few more minutes the tech shows up and says, "Did the doctor talk to you?" I said, "Noooo, should he have?" She said, "Yeah." So she proceeds to make some phone calls while I continue to wait in the middle of everything on this bed. A few more minutes go by and then a radiologist is standing in front of me and introducing himself. He proceeds to tell me that I am not going to be having the procedure done today. I said, "WHAT? Are you kidding me?" He said, "No, considering your age, your health history, the risk of surgery, the scar I would have, and the size of the calcifications, it was not worth the risk to do the procedure." I just started laughing. It was too funny. I said, "They could have told me this a little earlier, I mean I have already been through the worst part." When I have to get an IV it is not good. I told him I HATE IVs. I told him, "I would rather have to have an enema than an IV." He started laughing and said, "Well, we could send you down to bariatrics and give you a barium enema." I said, "Oh no. No, no, I'll take a zero no thanks." So they wheeled me back up stairs and took out the needle, I got dressed and went home. CRAZY, HUH? I do have to go back in 6 months for another mammogram to see if everything is OK. Good news, but CRAZY!! Anyone else got some crazy medical stories?
